Fred Rixey

Investment and Accounting Systems Director

Fred Rixey has more than 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Fred joined Fairway Management Group at its inception in 2009 as Director of Accounting. He established the company’s accounting procedures and developed a seasoned accounting team.  He has been responsible for converting the group’s property management and accounting software system to Yardi and PayScan system.

Prior to joining Fairway Management Group, Fred was employed for 25 years by Colonial Properties Trust, where he ultimately served as Senior Financial Officer of the Retail Division. While at Colonial, he was an integral part of the selection and implementation of the changeover to an SQL-based property management and accounting software system, created numerous key custom reports for financial and non-financial reporting, and established Sarbanes-Oxley control procedures. Fred’s prior experience includes office, industrial and retail property management, leasing, finance and syndication. Fred earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from Georgia State and the University of Alabama in Birmingham, respectively. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Alabama serving as the qualifying broker for Fairway Management Group. He holds both CSM and CRX designations with the International Council of Shopping Centers. Fred has been awarded numerous medals and recognitions including two Bronze Stars and two Army Commendation medals during his service in the U.S. Army.
